A Good Choice

I came across this mattress looking for a decently priced and more natural product -- one without toxic fumes for my little one to inhale. I found this mattress to be a good choice as it has a coconut coir, no off-gassing, etc. One thing to be aware of, however, is that this mattress does use a fire retardant. Greenbuds labels the retardant as a "non-toxic fire barrier" -- they use boric acid. My understanding is that boric acid is only toxic if ingested or inhaled in large quantities, but if this is of concern to you, you may want to check out Primrose Delux or Magnolia Delux mattresses by Greenbuds, as they use lambswool as a natural fire retardant instead (and therefore they are also more temperature-regulating and moisture wicking).
