We didnt even look at the instructions. It was that simple. Headboard, foot board - both pink/peach (more peachy), then 2 side wooden connector in white and the base. No tool needed, just connect the 4 and it's done. It is a bit heavy, well constructed.

CONS: The bed finish smells like paint and it has been 10 days and it still has a light smell. So my advice put it outside but safe from the rain for at least couple days before assembling and putting it in your kids room.

Second, we put the bed against the wall and there is a gap between the wall and bed. The first night our toddler fell into it but she just called me and I helped her out. After that we put several pillows in the gap and it has been working fine.

Third, I would suggest you use around 6 inch mattress with this bed. We bought a 10 inch one and it is a bit above foot board which is fine but not perfect.
