Not very sturdy

I bought this as a Birthday gift for my 2 years old. Assembled as instructed, after a few months the bench broke while my daughter was sitting in it, she cried! The bench broke on the sides with the screws still in place. The products looks nice, for the price , I really thought it would be better quality, instead of compressed wood. Quite disappointed.
